Time Lapse Auto Leave Debit
The TL Auto Leave Debit page allows HR administrators to configure automated time lapse leave debit rules that automatically deduct leave when an employee’s attendance shortfall exceeds a defined threshold. Rules are configured using organisational scope, threshold hours, evaluation period, graduated deduction slabs, leave deduction priorities, and an enable/disable toggle. Active rules are enforced automatically during the scheduled time lapse evaluation process.
Access TL Auto Leave Debit
- Navigate to Configuration Settings.
- Select TL Auto Leave Debit.
- The TL Auto Leave Debit page opens displaying all configured rules.
The page displays all existing automatic leave debit rules together with their organisational scope, deduction logic, leave priorities, and status.
TL Auto Leave Debit Rules
The rules table displays all configured Time Lapse Auto Leave Debit rules.
The table includes:
- Auto Time Lapse Leave Deduct
- Business Entity
- Business Unit
- Country
- Location
- Hours Period
- Threshold HRS
- Debit Period
- Time Lapse – Leave Deduction
- Priorities
- Actions
Administrators can edit, enable or disable, and delete rules directly from the table.
Search Rules
Administrators can quickly locate rules using the search bar.
Rules can be searched by:
- Business Entity
If no matching records are found, the system displays “No records found matching the criteria.”
Filter Rules
Use the Status filter to display specific rules.
Available filters include:
- All
- Active
- Inactive
The table updates immediately to display only rules matching the selected status.
Create a New Rule
To create a new Time Lapse Auto Leave Debit rule:
- Open TL Auto Leave Debit.
- Click + Add Rule.
- Complete the required information.
- Click Create.
The New Timelapse Debit Rule dialog opens with:
- Auto Time Lapse Leave Deduct toggle set to On
- Country defaulted to IN
- One empty deduction slab ready for configuration

Configure the organisational scope for the rule.
Business Entity
Business Unit
Country
Location
Threshold Settings
Threshold Hours
Enter the attendance shortfall threshold.
Once an employee’s shortfall exceeds this value, the automatic leave deduction logic is evaluated.
This field is mandatory.
Period
Select the evaluation period.
Example:
- Monthly
This field is mandatory.
Time Lapse – Leave Deduction
Configure one or more deduction slabs.
Each slab defines:
- Hours
- Leave Days to Deduct
Multiple slabs can be added to create graduated leave deduction rules based on increasing attendance shortfall.
Leave Deduction Priority
Specify the order in which leave types should be deducted.
Configure:
- Priority 1 (Mandatory)
- Priority 2 (Optional)
- Priority 3 (Optional)
If the first leave type does not have sufficient balance, the system attempts deduction using the next configured priority.
Auto Time Lapse Leave Deduct
Use the Auto Time Lapse Leave Deduct toggle to enable or disable automatic processing.
- On – The rule is included during automatic shortfall evaluation.
- Off – The rule is ignored without being deleted.
Rules can be enabled or disabled directly from the rules table or while editing the rule.
Save the Rule
After completing the required information:
- Review the configuration.
- Click Create.
When editing an existing rule, click Update.
The system validates:
- Business Entity
- Country
- Threshold Hours
- Period
- Priority 1
If validation succeeds:
- The rule is saved.
- The dialog closes.
- The updated rule immediately appears in the table.
- A confirmation message is displayed.
If mandatory information is missing, the system displays validation errors and keeps the dialog open until all required fields are completed.
Edit a Rule
To modify an existing rule:
- Locate the required rule.
- Click the Edit icon.
- Update the required information.
- Click Update.
The dialog opens with all previously configured organisational details, threshold settings, deduction slabs, and leave priorities.
Enable or Disable a Rule
To change whether a rule participates in automatic processing:
- Locate the required rule.
- Toggle Auto Time Lapse Leave Deduct On or Off.
The system immediately updates the rule status and refreshes the Active/Inactive counts displayed on the page.
Delete a Rule
To permanently remove a rule:
- Locate the required rule.
- Click the Delete icon.
The rule is immediately removed from the configuration list. No confirmation dialog is displayed before deletion.

Each TL Auto Leave Debit rule stores the following information:
- Rule ID
- Business Entity
- Business Unit
- Department
- Country
- Location
- Threshold Hours
- Period
- Shortfall Hours
- Leave Deduction Value
- Is Enabled
- Is Active
- Sort Order
These properties determine when automatic leave deductions are triggered, how leave deductions are calculated, and whether the rule participates in the scheduled automatic evaluation process.
