Email & SMTP Setup

Updated August 6, 2026 1 min read

GEMS sends email for a lot of things — invites, invoices, password resets, order confirmations — so this is worth setting up early rather than discovering a gap when your first customer email bounces.

  1. Go to Company Settings → Email and choose a sending method: GEMS’ default sender (fine for testing) or your own SMTP server (recommended for production).
  2. Enter your SMTP credentials — host, port, username, password, and encryption type (TLS/SSL).
  3. Set your “from” address and name — this is what recipients see on every GEMS-sent email.
  4. Send a test email to confirm delivery before relying on it.
  5. Check spam/deliverability basics — SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records on your sending domain, if you’re using your own SMTP.

This is a one-time, shared setting — every module (HR notifications, ERP invoices, CRM sequences, eCommerce order emails) uses whichever sender you configure here.
