Assignment

The Assignment module is used to establish relationships between organisational units created in the Definition module. While the Definition module creates individual organisational records, the Assignment module links those records together to build your organisation’s operational hierarchy.

These assignments define how different organisational units interact with one another, ensuring that business processes such as Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, Inventory, and Logistics follow the correct organisational structure throughout the ERP. Each assignment creates a specific relationship—for example, linking a Group Company to its Business Entities or assigning Factory Units to Delivery Locations.

Purpose

The Assignment module helps your organisation to:

• Connect organisational master records.
• Build a structured organisational hierarchy.
• Define relationships between business, manufacturing, sourcing, inventory, and sales units.
• Ensure transactions follow the correct organisational structure.
• Maintain consistent organisational mappings across all ERP modules.

Available Assignments

The Assignment page includes the following organisational relationships:

Group Company → Business Entity	Links Business Entities to their respective Group Company.
Business Entity → Factory Unit	Assigns Factory Units to a Business Entity.
Business Entity → Business Unit	Maps Business Units under a Business Entity.
Business Entity → Sourcing Unit	Associates Sourcing Units with a Business Entity.
Business Unit + Sales Channel + Sales Team → Factory Unit	Defines the relationship between business operations, sales, and manufacturing.
Sourcing Unit + Sales Team → Factory Unit	Connects sourcing operations and sales teams with manufacturing units.
Factory Unit → Delivery Location	Associates delivery locations with Factory Units.
Sales Team → Sales Person	Assigns sales personnel to Sales Teams.
Factory Unit + Inventory Unit → Inventory Bay	Defines the warehouse hierarchy from Factory Unit to Inventory Bay.
Sourcing Unit Team → Sourcing Team Person	Assigns personnel to Sourcing Unit Teams.

Screen Overview

The Assignment page displays each organisational relationship as a separate card.

Selecting an assignment opens the corresponding assignment screen where authorised users can:

• Create new assignments.
• View existing relationships.
• Update assignments.
• Search and filter records.
• Manage organisational mappings used across the ERP.

Each assignment ensures that related organisational records are properly connected before they are used in operational processes. The source documentation describes each assignment as establishing the required hierarchy between organisational units for downstream ERP processes.

How Assignments Work

Assignments create parent-child relationships between organisational units.

For example:

• A Group Company can contain one or more Business Entities.
• A Business Entity can be linked to multiple Business Units, Factory Units, and Sourcing Units.
• Sales Teams are assigned to Sales Persons.
• Factory Units are connected to Inventory Units, Inventory Bays, and Delivery Locations.
• Sourcing Unit Teams are linked with Sourcing Team Persons.

These relationships ensure that business transactions are routed through the appropriate organisational structure.

• Complete all master records in the Definition module before creating assignments.
• Verify that the correct organisational records are selected before saving an assignment.
• Avoid duplicate or unnecessary mappings.
• Review assignments whenever organisational structures change.
• Restrict assignment management to authorised users to maintain data integrity.
