Customers

The Customers module is your central workspace for managing every customer relationship in one place — from initial record creation to ongoing account maintenance, contacts, deals, tasks, and full audit history. It’s designed to give sales, service, and account teams a single, reliable source of truth for customer data.

Customers List View

The Customers List is your operational starting point — a searchable, filterable grid of every customer record you have access to, with quick actions to create, import, export, or manage records in bulk.

What You’ll See

  • Customer Counters – Total, Active, and Inactive counts, giving you an instant read on your customer base
  • Filter Dropdown – shows your current list context, e.g. “All Customers (4),” so you always know what you’re looking at
  • Search Bar – quickly find a customer by key identifiers
  • Customers Grid – a row-by-row view of your customers with core identity, ownership, and status details
  • Pagination – page size and navigation controls for working through large customer lists

Grid Columns

ColumnDescription

Each row also includes View, Edit, and Delete actions for quick access.

Toolbar Actions

  • New – opens the Customer creation flow
  • Refresh – pulls the latest data from the system
  • Settings – customize which columns appear in your list via the “Customize Columns” dialog
  • Filter – narrow the list by Customer Name, Customer ID, Owner, Partner Type, Industry, City, or Status, with the option to save your filter as a reusable query
  • Sort – order records by any field, ascending or descending
  • Reset – clears filters and sorting, returning to the default view
  • Actions – bulk operations including Import, Export, and Mass Delete

Customer Detailed View

Opening a customer record gives you a complete, organized view of everything related to that account — general details, address, sales configuration, contacts, deals, leads, tasks, notes, interactions, attachments, and a full change history — all in a safe, read-only mode by default.

Why Read-Only by Default

To prevent accidental changes, the Detailed View always opens in View mode. Every field across every tab is displayed as read-only text. If you need to make a change, you switch deliberately into Edit mode — nothing can be modified by accident.

Header

  • Customer Name as the page title
  • Edit – switches into Edit mode
  • Close – returns to the Customers List, with your previous filters and search intact
  • Kebab menu (⋮) – additional actions such as Print View

The 11 Tabs

The Detailed View is organized into tabs, each covering a different aspect of the customer relationship. Which tabs you see depends on your role — if you don’t have access to a business area, that tab simply won’t appear.

#TabEditable?
1Customer OverviewYes
2Sales & ShippingYes
3ContactsYes
4Related PersonsYes
5DealsYes
6LeadsYes
7TasksYes
8NotesYes
9InteractionsYes
10AttachmentsYes
11Change HistoryNo — always read-only

Switching between tabs never loses your place — if you move from View to Edit mode, you’ll land back on the same tab you were viewing.

Customer Overview Tab

The landing tab of every customer record, showing the core information captured when the customer was created.

What’s Included
  • General Information – identity and classification details, plus a free-text Note field
  • Website and Territory
  • Block Controls – four independent checkboxes (Overall, Sales Order, Shipping, Invoice) that let you halt specific types of transactions for this customer without deleting the record
  • Customer Owner – rather than typing a name, you select the owner from a searchable list of eligible users pulled from Access Control, ensuring only authorized users can be assigned
Good to Know
  • Customer ID can never be changed once the record is created, regardless of your role
  • Each block checkbox is independent — turning one on doesn’t affect the others

Sales & Shipping Tab

For customers operating across multiple Business Units, this tab lets you maintain entirely separate commercial terms for each one.

What’s Included
  • Business Units Panel – a list of every Business Unit linked to the customer, each showing whether it’s fully configured
  • Sales Configuration – Sales Channel, Sales Team, Discount Group, Payment Terms, and Currency
  • Blocking Flags – the same four transaction blocks, but scoped to this specific Business Unit
  • Shipping Configuration – Partial Deliveries, Shipping Conditions, and Priority
  • Freight Configuration – a table of freight terms and carrier details, supporting multiple entries
Good to Know
  • Selecting a Business Unit on the left scopes the entire page to that unit’s data — every Business Unit keeps its own independent settings
  • Sales Channel only becomes available once a Business Unit is selected; Sales Team only becomes available once a Sales Channel is chosen
  • A newly added Business Unit shows “Not configured” until its Sales Configuration is saved

Contacts Tab

Keep track of everyone you deal with at the customer organization.

What’s Included
  • A searchable grid of linked contacts, showing name, designation, email, and phone details
  • Add Existing – link a contact that already exists in the system
  • Create New – add a brand-new contact directly linked to this customer
  • A Default checkbox marking the primary point of contact
Good to Know
  • Only one contact can be marked as Default at a time — marking a new one automatically unmarks the previous
  • Clicking a contact takes you to that person’s own detailed record

Related Persons Tab

Track which internal employees are responsible for this account, and in what capacity.

What’s Included
  • A grid showing each linked employee’s Function (e.g. Sales, Service), Role, territory, and priority
  • Add Person – opens a lookup to select an employee from your HR records
  • A Main checkbox marking the primary responsible person
Good to Know
  • Employees are always selected from the HR lookup — names aren’t typed in manually
  • Only one related person can be marked Main at a time
  • Region becomes available once Country is selected; Sales Channel becomes available once Business Unit is selected

Deals Tab

A read-only summary of every deal linked to this customer — stage, value, and expected close date — with a link into each deal’s full record. Deals themselves are created and managed from the Deals module, not from within the customer record, so this tab looks and behaves the same whether you’re in View or Edit mode.

Leads Tab

Similarly, a read-only summary of every lead associated with this customer, showing status, company, and contact email, with a link into each lead’s full record. Like Deals, this tab is managed from the Leads module and stays consistent across View and Edit mode.

Tasks Tab

Create and track tasks tied directly to this customer.

  • Create New Task (Edit mode) – add a task with Subject, Status, and an assigned Processor
  • Tasks created here also appear in the main Task module, linked back to this customer
  • From any task, you can navigate straight back to the customer record

Notes Tab

Capture free-text notes, separated into two categories:

  • External Notes – relevant to external-facing context
  • Internal Notes – internal-only

Each note is tagged with its author and timestamp automatically. Once saved, a note’s text can’t be edited — only deleted — keeping the record trustworthy.

Interactions Tab

A complete communication history with the customer, covering Email, Phone, and Meetings.

  • Email – split into Email Interactions and Email Drafts; messages are automatically grouped into threads so replies don’t create duplicate entries
  • Phone – log a completed call or schedule an upcoming one, with type and duration tracked
  • Meetings – plan a meeting directly from this tab, capturing location, duration, and date

Email interactions pulled in automatically from your mail service are shown for reference but can’t be manually edited or deleted — they’re preserved exactly as received.

Attachments Tab

Manage every document connected to the customer, split into two categories:

  • Manual Attachments – files you upload directly (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, JPG, PNG, MP4, up to 60 MB each), each tagged with a category and description
  • Interaction Attachments – files that arrived automatically through email interactions, kept separate to preserve their original source

Change History Tab

A complete, tamper-proof audit trail of every change made to the customer record — what changed, from what value to what value, who made the change, and when. This tab is always read-only, in both View and Edit mode, so the audit trail can never be altered. You can search by field name and export selected entries for compliance or review purposes.

Creating a New Customer

New customers are created through a guided, four-step flow.

Step 1: Customer Overview

Enter the customer’s core identity details:

  • Customer Type – choose Individual or Business. Selecting Individual replaces the single Name field with Title, First Name, Middle Name, and Last Name, which the system automatically combines into a computed Customer Name
  • General Information – Email, Alternate Email, phone numbers, Lifecycle Status, Partner Classification, Industry, Business Segment, Partner Type, and Territory
  • Address – House/Building/Street details, with Country, State/Region, District, and City filtering progressively as you select each one

The system automatically checks for duplicate customers based on email before allowing you to proceed.

Step 2: Sales & Shipping

Add one or more Business Units and configure their commercial terms — Sales Configuration, Blocking Flags, Shipping Configuration, and Freight Configuration. Each Business Unit you add keeps its own independent settings, and you can add or remove Business Units freely at this stage.

Step 3: Contacts

Link the people you’ll be working with at this customer, either by searching for an existing contact or creating a new one on the spot. Mark one as the Default contact for quick reference later.

Step 4: Related Persons

Assign internal employees to this account — for example, a Sales rep and a Service rep — specifying their role, territory, and priority. Mark one as the Main related person.

Saving

When you click Save, the system validates all required fields, checks for duplicates, and generates a unique Customer ID automatically. Your new customer, along with all linked contacts, related persons, and Business Unit configurations, is created in a single step — and immediately visible in your Customers list and dashboard counters.

If you click Cancel at any point during creation, nothing is saved — you’re returned to where you started with no partial record left behind.
