Deals

The Deals module is where qualified opportunities live and progress through your sales pipeline — from initial qualification to Closed Won or Closed Lost. A deal usually starts life as a converted Lead, but can also be created manually, and it becomes the central record tying together products, contacts, your internal team, communications, and documentation for that specific opportunity.

Deals List View

Your pipeline management workspace — a consolidated view of every deal you have access to, with quick filtering by ownership and status.

What You’ll See

  • Search Bar – find a deal by Deal ID, Deal Name, or Owner
  • Deals Grid – the full pipeline, row by row

Deal Detailed View

Every deal opens into a workspace covering Overview, Products/Line Items, Contacts, Related Persons and Deal Team, Interactions, Notes, Tasks, Attachments, and Document Flow — giving you everything about that opportunity in one place.

Overview Tab

The command center for the deal, organized into four sections.

Core Deal Details
  • Deal ID – system-generated, always read-only
  • Deal Owner, Deal Name, Deal Type, Deal Stage, Deal Status
  • Start Date and End Date
  • Deal Value, Lead Source, Priority, Competitor
  • Linked Lead ID – automatically filled in if this deal originated from a converted Lead, giving you traceability back to where it started
  • Reason Lost – only relevant once the deal is marked Closed Lost
Financials & Probability
  • Expected Revenue – calculated automatically as Deal Value × Probability %
  • Expected Cost – entered manually
  • Expected Margin – calculated automatically as Expected Revenue − Expected Cost
Prospect/Customer Details
  • Prospect/Customer Name links the deal to a Customer record — selecting one auto-fills the Customer ID and Industry
  • Primary Contact is filtered to only show contacts already linked to that customer
Assignment & Classification
  • Assigned To, Business Unit, Territory, Product Category, Sales Channel, Campaign ID
  • Next Step – a free-text field to note the immediate next action
  • Forecast Category – used for pipeline forecasting (Pipeline, Best Case, Commit, Closed)
Good to Know
  • Changing the Deal Stage automatically updates Probability % to that stage’s configured default — you can override it manually afterward
  • Deal Status updates automatically as the stage progresses, reaching Closed Won or Closed Lost at the terminal stages
  • Once a deal is Closed Won or Closed Lost, its core identity and financial fields become locked — corrections at that point require an admin to unlock the record

Products/Line Items Tab

Add the specific products and quantities that make up this deal. Each product is priced from your configured price master rather than typed in freely, and the line item totals automatically roll up into the Deal Value on the Overview tab.

Contacts Tab

Shows every contact person associated with this specific deal — distinct from the broader Customer-level Contacts tab.

  • The Primary Contact chosen on the Overview tab automatically appears here, flagged accordingly
  • Add Contact (Edit mode) lets you bring in additional stakeholders — technical evaluators, finance approvers, and so on — filtered to people already linked to this deal’s customer
  • Only one contact can hold the Primary flag at a time
  • Removing a contact here only removes the deal-level link — it doesn’t touch the Contact Person record itself or its connection to the Customer

Related Persons and Deal Team Tab

Two independent grids covering the internal side of the deal.

Related Persons

Automatically pulled in from the linked Customer’s own Related Persons — so the account managers and reps already tied to that customer show up here by default. You can add further people manually from your employee directory; anything added this way is scoped to the deal only and doesn’t affect the Customer record.

Deal Team

The Deal Owner is automatically added here the moment the deal is created, and stays in sync if the owner changes on the Overview tab — this row can never be removed. You can add further team members manually, each assigned a role such as Sales Executive, Pre-Sales Consultant, or Technical Lead.

Interactions Tab

A communication log scoped specifically to this deal — Email, Phone, and Meetings, each tracked independently with its own count.

  • Deal-level interactions are a subset of the customer’s full history — anything logged here also appears on the linked Customer’s Interactions tab for complete traceability
  • Compose Email pre-fills the Primary Contact’s address and logs the message automatically once sent
  • Interaction records are append-only, forming a permanent communication trail for the deal

Notes Tab

Deal-specific documentation, separated into:

  • External Notes – content suitable for sharing with the customer, like proposal summaries or agreed action points
  • Internal Notes – for your team only, such as negotiation strategy or competitor intelligence

Notes are scoped strictly to this deal and won’t appear on the customer’s own Notes tab.

Tasks Tab

Every task linked to this deal — follow-ups, proposal prep, demo scheduling, and similar sales activities. Tasks are created from the Task module itself (with this deal set as the linked entity) rather than directly from this tab, and they also roll up into the linked customer’s Tasks tab for a full account picture.

Attachments Tab

Manage deal-related documents, split into two categories:

  • Manual Attachments – proposals, contracts, presentations, and pricing sheets you upload directly (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, JPG, PNG, MP4, up to 60 MB each), each tagged with a category and description
  • Interaction Attachments – files that arrived as email attachments through the Interactions tab, kept as read-only references

Document Flow Tab

A visual, card-based trail showing the deal’s full lineage — the originating Lead as the parent, the deal itself at the center, and any downstream objects like Quotes or Orders as children. Every card links directly to that object’s own detail view, giving you a complete picture of where this opportunity came from and where it’s headed.

Creating a New Deal

Core Deal Details

  • Deal Name – the only mandatory field in this section, alongside the auto-filled Deal Owner
  • Deal Stage defaults to Qualification; Deal Status defaults to Open
  • Currency defaults to INR
  • Linked Lead ID – optional, for referencing an existing Lead without a formal conversion

Financials & Probability

  • Deal Value, Probability % (defaulting to the stage’s configured value), and Expected Cost are entered directly
  • Expected Revenue, Expected Margin, and Deal Age all calculate automatically
  • Opportunity Closing Date is mandatory — it drives the Close Date shown throughout the pipeline

Prospect/Customer Details

  • Prospect/Customer Name is mandatory — selecting a customer auto-fills the Customer ID and Industry
  • Primary Contact only becomes selectable once a customer has been chosen, and is filtered to that customer’s contacts

Assignment & Classification

Business Unit, Territory, Product Category, Sales Channel, Campaign ID, Next Step, and Forecast Category — all optional at this stage and can be filled in later if needed.

Saving

  • Save – creates the deal and takes you to its detail view
  • Save & New – creates the deal and immediately opens a fresh form with the next Deal ID ready
  • Cancel – discards everything and returns you to the previous screen

Sub-tabs like Products, Contacts, and Interactions only become available once the deal has been saved for the first time — they’re not part of the initial creation form.
